Today we say farewell to Stefano, Donata and the motley crew who have been our companions for the last 2 weeks.
We jump onboard our bus and then it is 2 1//2 hours to Rome airport.
Lunch again is an excellent burger and beer at the Burger Federation and then we are crammed into our flight to Palermo. We are picked up by our driver in a mini van who introduces us to the horrors of Sicilian driving. En route there is a large bang under the car which I assumed was a mafia asassination attempt followed by other stange grating noises-our driver was unperturbed and we arrived shaken, but not stirred, at our new AirBnb. Thank God there were only 2 flights of stairs to ascend. The apartment has an extensive library with a fine collection of classics and graphic homo-erotic comic books-perfect bedtime reading.
