Arriving in Olde England

Having endured the horrors of long distance flying

including having to decide which vintage French champagne to drink, we arrive unscathed at Heathrow London to be greeted by my recalcitrant daughter, Claire. Following a short 3km walk to Terminal 2 and a 7km bus trip we locate the AVIS counter and collect our vehicle and drive to sunny downtown Ash Vale.
We meet Eric , Claire’s beau and it’s off to the local
Colored train for Oliver
to get reacquainted with fine English ales.
A fine repast prepared by our gracious hosts and then off to bed where we occasionally doze off.

The following day Claire takes us for a perambulation along the Basingstoke Canal

observing the arcane rituals practiced by English recreational fishermen.

Swans for Ella and Matilda
We settle into the Swan Public House for lunch and ales
Heaven

and then return exhausted to our digs
