An icy reception in Lyon

It is with a heavy heart we leave our little house in Fontevraud
and drive to St Pierre des Corps to drop off our car.
Train for Oliver
We all hop onto the TGV which takes us to Massy where the 2 seniors change trains and say a fond farewell to Claire and Eric;
 Eric has selfishly refused to carry our bags onto  the next train. Some months ago it seemed such a good idea to have an upper berth but When confronted by narrow stairs and 2x 35Kg suitcases, well??????????
We arrive in Lyon and catch a taxi to our our new apartment
Not as tidy as we would have hoped

but what a great kitchen!
situated in a pedestrian zone but more importantly just one block away from Terre Adelice, considered the best ice creamery in Lyon with about 100 different flavours

-we will have our work cut out for us trying them all in just one week.
We have a booking tonight at Bouchon des Filles for some traditional Lyonnaise dishes.Pro tip: when in a strange city and trying to navigate to a new location using your phone, make sure the battery does not go flat and/or carry a map as backup. We arrive wet and desolee but end up with a great meal.

We are seated next to a very boring Australian girl who tries to engage us but we manage to ignore her.
